Summer Camp 2025 - Where Curiosity Takes Flight

We are pleased to welcome your children to the 2025 Summer Camp at Amelia Earhart Schule! This year’s program is full of fun, enriching, and active experiences. Each week will focus on a different theme, offering children the chance to explore, learn, and enjoy time together. Below is an overview of the weekly plans:
Week of July 7–11
Theme: Sport & Nature Exploration
An energetic and creative week in close contact with nature. Through outdoor play, discovery walks, and hands-on projects, children will explore their surroundings, work together, and stay active.

Monday – Arrival & Nature Discovery: walk in the park, collecting natural materials, starting the nature journal, and cooperative games.

Tuesday – Little Scientists & Artists: exploring with magnifying glasses, creating mandalas and small boats from nature, making pizza, and outdoor sports.

Wednesday – Senses & Play: barefoot sensory path, forest bingo, animal tracks game, picnic and visit to Löwe playground, and ice cream for everyone.

Thursday – Adventure & Action: ride on the Nerobergbahn, climbing park visit, lunch together, and free play at Tränkenweg playground.

Friday – Memories & Farewell: seasonal brunch, nature bracelets, certificate ceremony, and final presentations of the children’s nature journals.
Week of July 14–18
Theme: Pirates
Ahoy, young adventurers! This week we’ll dive into the exciting world of pirates through crafts, games, stories, and a treasure hunt. Children will work together to build ships, create pirate characters, and end the week with a festive Pirate Party.

Monday – Pirate Kick-off: building pirate ships out of cardboard, choosing pirate names, making scratch art, coloring, games, and learning the “Wellerman” dance.

Tuesday – Ships & Stories: crafting wooden boats, pirate photo booth, storytelling, and water games if the weather is nice (please bring spare clothes!).

Wednesday – Treasure Hunt: full-day excursion to the Kurpark with a pirate-themed treasure hunt.

Thursday – Pirate Workshop: singing pirate songs, completing themed worksheets, and making pirate hats.

Friday – Pirate Finale: rotating activity stations, Pirate Party, music, dancing, and saying goodbye with a smile!
Week of July 21-25
Theme: English Around the World
Each day we’ll “travel” to a different English-speaking country to explore its culture, traditions, and food. Children will collect stamps in their camp passport as we visit each destination.

Monday – Australia: learn about native animals, make kangaroo keychains and boomerangs, and watch videos about life in Australia.

Tuesday – Singapore: taste traditional snacks, make koi fish crafts, and discover fun facts about the country.

Wednesday – England: cook sausage rolls, design London-themed coasters, and watch an educational video about the UK.

Thursday – South Africa: create “Hakuna Matata” pencil holders, decorate wooden mandalas, and explore African wildlife.

Friday – United States: excursion to the American supermarket on the Wiesbaden military base (please send 5 € with your child). We’ll visit a park and learn about US monuments.
Week of July 28–August 1
Theme: Safari
This week we’ll go on a wild learning journey through the savannah! From animal masks and games to zoo visits and yoga, children will dive into the world of safari using all their senses.

Monday: safari roleplay, map-making, mask crafts, listening activities, and themed movement games.

Tuesday: “Who Am I?” animal guessing game, animal fact sheets, wild animal crafts, and a movie or movement stations.

Wednesday: full-day excursion to Frankfurt Zoo (comfortable clothing, water, and sun protection required).

Thursday: finish “Safari in a Box” crafts, read The Lion King, play with chalk, ropes, and hula hoops, and complete safari portfolios.

Friday: yoga with animal poses, documentary and quiz on endangered species, portfolio reflection, and celebration with music and storytelling.
Daily Essentials:
Please make sure your child brings:

Comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes

A refillable water bottle

A hat and sunscreen or rain jacket, depending on the weather
The camp runs daily from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
We kindly ask that all children are picked up no later than 4:30 p.m., as the school premises will be closed after that time. We appreciate your punctuality and understanding.
